Yesterday about half the street lights in Ashwell were upgraded to LEDs and the ones in Graveley High Street were done this morning. Most of the rest of the Ashwell lights are scheduled to be done on Friday. This is the last stage of the switch to LED lights covering what are known as “heritage” lights.

When the new lights are first installed they come on a full brightness, which often makes them much brighter than the previous lights (and may mean that they don’t go off over-night).

Within a day or two they should be connected to the lighting management system which will return them to the same level of brightness as the previous lights and ensure that the go on and off at the right times.
