The consultation on a 20mph speed limit for Ashwell starts officially tomorrow (although letters have already been delivered to some residents) and runs until 8th March.
The 20mph zone will cover the centre of the village but will exclude Station Road and Newnham Way, since neither of these roads meet the requirements for a 20mph limit. In addition there will be some new 40mph limits on the northern edge of the village (on Gardiners Lane, Cow Lane and Station Road) where the limit is currently 60mph.
There will be no humps, chicanes or other traffic calming as part of the new limit.
