Liberal Democrat County Councillor for Royston West & Rural and District Councillor for Weston & Sandon. Learn more

On Tuesday I asked the County Council to agree that lights that are turned off over night should stay on until 2.00 am where local people wanted this to happen. This could be more than paid for by dimming the lights between 5.00 am and 6.00 am (as is already planned in the evening).
There would be no change where people wanted to keep the current arrangements.
Unfortunately all the Conservative councillors voted against this. Apparently they would rather spend more money (and waste more energy) than do what local people want.
