Great Ashby Way resurfacing

by stevejarvis on 3 October, 2017

Over the last couple of days the council and their contractor has caused enormous problems in Great Ashby by closing roads without telling people, providing wrong information about where roads would be closed and changing which sections of road will be closed at the last minute.

The latest news on the road resurfacing is:

The roundabout at Lomond Way and the road between Lomond are Grasmere should be finished today. The Grasmere roundabout itself is not being resurfaced.

Tomorrow the roundabout at the end of Fairfield Way will be resurfaced. They will also complete the work at Bray Drive, but this will not involve closing the road (there will be stop/go boards).

On Thursday they will resurface the roundabout at the Mendip Way/Whitehorse Lane junction.

The roundabout at the end of Cleveland Way is not being resurfaced.

The bus company and the school have been told what is planned and there will be a leaflet drop to nearby houses (but this will be a little restricted in the time available).

Once the work is finished there will be an investigation into how the council and the contractor managed to make such as mess of the whole job.
